Aqueous film-forming foam, AFFF, was used for decades by firefighters and on military bases to put out fuel fires. It contains PFAS chemicals now linked to kidney cancer, testicular cancer, and other serious illnesses. Firefighters and veterans who were regularly exposed are often diagnosed years or decades later, and litigation over these claims takes time.
